Branson Kelly

Branson Kelly (b.1953) has been creating art long before he was in a formal studio setting.

He rotates though designs of circles, squares, and both straight and wavy lines using rulers and stencils as a guide. He draws these shapes and geometric patterns on paper, then meticulously fills them in with colored pencil. Branson chooses his colors shape by shape, letting his creative intuition guide him.

Branson prefers to listen to music while he draws, leaning toward the jazz of his childhood. This creative input contributes to the calming nature of his practice, demonstrated in the precision of his work.
