Travis Massey

Travis Massey (b.) is a self-taught Brooklyn based artist whose work draws deeply from his dreams and lived experiences. His practice often creates whimsical and introspective compositions through dreamlike scenes. Through these compositions, Massey invites viewers into his unique perspective where the boundary between reality and the subconscious becomes blurred. Working primarily in markers, Massey creates richly saturated images defined by bold color and dynamic energy. These characteristics animate each of his works with vitality, bringing life to a story Massey has envisioned Central to his work are eccentric, often nude figures that are engaged in different activities. In addition to figurative elements, Massey incorporates patterns and prints inspired by his surroundings. Through these elements, Massey’s work creates a compelling visual field that allows him to explore his identity and imagination.
